MARGARET "PEG" E. VanDONSEL, 81, of Emily, passed away peacefully on Dec. 30, 2022. Peg was born on June 25, 1941 in St. Louis Park. She attended St. Louis Park High School, St. Cloud State University, and North Hennepin County Community College. Peg was an avid golfer and enjoyed sewing, embroidery, knitting, music, and bingo. She loved spending time at the lake with her family and friends. Preceded in death by daughter Shawn Hazen –O’Hara, parents Dorothy and Stewart Chase and former husband Bill Hazen.

PAUL A. JOHNSON, 90, of Palisade, died on Jan. 9, 2023 at his home.  He was born on Sept. 23, 1932 in Waukenabo Township to Carl and Nancy (Carlson) Johnson. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran severing in of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.  He married Kathleen “Kay” Deblock on Sept. 25, 2004 in Crosby.  He was a member of the Aitkin VFW, the Aitkin American Legion Post 86 and the Hilltop Chapel in Palisade. Preceding him in death are his parents; one son, Kevin Johnson; one brother, Don Johnson and one sister, Rose Carlson.

LaVONNE MARDELLE McCALVY, 86, of Bay Lake Township, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Dec. 23, 2022. She was born on Aug. 13, 1936 in Crosby to Roy and Melva (Stang) Abbott.  She married James Howard McCalvy on Sept. 16, 1955 in Crosby.  She was a member of Light of The Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison.  She was a close confidant, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, James in 2017 and son-in-law, Marlowe Peterson.

Glennis Eileen (Moe) Maruskie Obit

GLENNIS EILEEN (MOE) MARUSKIEe, 86, of Battleview, ND, passed away on Jan. 7, 2023, at Augusta Place in Bismarck, ND. She was born on May 17, 1936, in LeRoy. She was the third child of seven born to William and Agnes “Mae” Moe. She graduated in 1954 from Crosby-Ironton High School. On March 25, 1964, Glennis was united in marriage to Nealin Maruskie. They made their home north of Battleview, where they raised their five children. She enjoyed many hours of fishing with her husband and children. In addition to family, they raised cattle and pigs until his death in April of 1991.
