JANETH "PENNY" LYNN (TOWNER) KOEHLER  was born March 10, 1945 in St. Paul to Janeth Grace Olson and Harold Ellsworth Towner. She died on Oct. 31, 2022 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. She died just eight days after her beloved husband, Gordon “Gordy” Koehler. Penny graduated from Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis in 1963. She was a cheerleader and homecoming queen. Penny was an avid slalom and barefoot waterskier and was skiing into her 70s. In her younger years she enjoyed barrel racing. She married Gordon Koehler in 1992. She worked in real estate for many years at Edina Realty.

JAMES RANDOLPH AKERS, 35, of Cuyuna, died at home on Jan. 14, 2023.  He was born on May 21, 1987 in Metairie, LA to James and Carolyn (Brammer) Akers. He graduated from Chaska High School, class of 2005. After graduation, he was employed as the GM at Jimmy Johns of Overland Park, KS and most recently worked as a Service advisor for Burnsville Toyota and Luther Burnsville Hyundai. He is survived by his wife Kelly; his parents, James and Carolyn Akers; his daughter, Evelyn Akers and one brother, Michael Akers. A Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan.

WILLIAM "BILL" B. WARREN, 92, of Washburn, IA died at his home Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023. He was born July 30, 1930 in San Diego, CA, son of Alvin H. and Lottie M. (Rairigh-Pease) Warren. He attended rural country school. He married Pricilla Dingman and they later divorced. He married Nora Moen on Nov. 21, 1959 in Minnesota. Bill worked at the Inland Steel Mine, Ironton then he worked at John Deere as a machinist in the Engine Works, retiring in 1992. He was member of the UAW #838 and the Calvary Bible Baptist Church of Washburn.
