Celebration of Life May 11 for Charles "Charlie" Hartung

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 11 at the Ironton American Legion starting at 1 p.m. for Charles “Charlie” Hartung. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls on Monday, May 13 at 1 p.m. Guests may wear red, white and blue in his honor.

JUDY DOONAN, 81 of Deerwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was born to Basil and Lillian Doonan in Willow River; the youngest of nine children. She was known for her strength, resilience and adventurous spirit. She found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life by tending to her flowers and apple tree. She was an avid reader and enjoyed attending a meat raffle now and then. She is the former owner of Eddy’s Smokehouse of Deerwood, former Deerwood City Council Member, and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

LINDA LAURAINE LUNDQUIST LINTGEN, 77, of Circle Pines, transitioned from this life on March 30, 2024. Linda was born in Crosby on Jan. 12, 1947.  She was the eldest daughter of Emil and Lauraine (Nelson) Lundquist. Linda graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School in 1965.  She continued her education at the Brainerd Junior College, St. Cloud State University, Hamline University and the University of California Berkley.  Linda taught in the St. Francis School District for 33 years. In 1973, Linda met Frank Lintgen and they wed the following year.

GABRIEL "GABE" ALLAN ALDRIDGE passed away on April 25, 2024 at the age of 42, in Ironton. Born on Aug. 25, 1981 in Duluth,  he was the beloved son of Barry and Alana (Chambers) Aldridge. Gabe exchanged vows with Michelle Silitz on March 10, 2001 in Brainerd, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Gabe embodied the meaning of his name, "strong man of God," living with unwavering faith in Jesus, and serving as a steadfast pillar for his wife and five cherished children. His approach to life was one of wholehearted embrace, relishing each moment with exuberance.

JIMMIE LEE TORVINEN, 81, died Feb. 29, 2024 in Rutherfordton, NC. He was born Oct. 1, 1942 in Minneapolis. He joined the Navy at the age of 17. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Wren (Crain) Torvinen; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Marty McSwain; sons and daughters-in-law Jim and Amy Torvinen and Tim and Andeena; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson, all of North Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law Patty and Dale Van Horn and Cincy and Earl Van Horn, all of Crosby, Tammy and Bill Schaar of Finlayson and Rock and Ina Torvinen of Crosby.

MAE ELIZABETH HEGLUND, 97, of Crosby died Monday, March 4, 2024 with her family by her side at her son’s home in Ironton. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood with Rev. Gary Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial of the urn will be at the Bay Lake Township Cemetery after the service with a luncheon served at 1 p.m. at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Resort. She was born on Sept.

STACY ANN STALEY, 53, of Baxter, passed away from cancer at her home on April 18, 2024. Stacy was born in Columbus, OH on Oct. 14, 1970 to Michael Staley and Sandra Wgeishofski. Stacy cherished her time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her role as a wife, mother and grandmother but also worked outside the home. We will all miss her sense of humor and caring ways. Stacy is preceded in death by her father, Michael Staley; step-father, LeRoy Wgeishofski and sister, Desiree Staley.

A Celebration of Life for Jean Sharp who passed away on Oct. 27, 2023 at the age of 87, will be held in her honor on Saturday, May 4 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. We will be gathering to share our favorite memories of a life so deeply missed.
