Ronald Scott Chileen Obit

RONALD SCOTT CHILEEN, 80, of Rochester, IN, passed away on March 25, 2026. Ron graduated from Chicago Vocational High School. He proudly served his country as a Specialist 4th Class in the United States Army. He lived in Michigan and Illinois until he decided to move to Indiana. A longtime resident of Leiters Ford and Rochester, Indiana, Ron was known for his creativity, craftsmanship, and the quiet joy he found in making things with his hands. A skilled carpenter and gifted artist, Ron expressed himself through many forms—wood carving, bonsai cultivation, rock carving, and clay sculpture among them. He had a natural talent for bringing beauty out of simple materials, and he found deep satisfaction in creating pieces that reflected both patience and imagination. In later years, he created for an audience of one, his late wife of 42 years, Carol Chileen.   Ron built a meaningful life alongside his beloved wife, Carol, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and care. He was a devoted and supportive presence in the lives of Carol’s two sons, Anthony (Tony) Eisemann and John Eisemann, helping to raise them and leaving a lasting impact through his steady guidance and kindness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Bernice (Blomberg) Chileen; brothers Rodney "Beeb" Chileen and Richard "Richie" Chileen; and by his faithful wife,Carol (Surber) Chileen. Ron leaves behind sons, Anthony (Shiloh) Eisemann, and John (Joslyn) Eisemann and three grandchildren; Marion Rylee and Reed. He also leaves nephews, Scot Chileen (Susan Barrett) (Illinois), Zachary Chileen (New York), niece, Courtney Chileen (New York); great-nephew, Cole (Jen) Chileen (Illinois); great-nieces, Barrie (Brian) Chileen Martinez (Iowa), Kaylyn Chileen (Washington) and Uncle Les Chileen of Crosby, plus many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. In August of 2025 Ron Spent time in the Crosby-Ironton area along with his dear friend, Laura. He shared his gentle spirit along with the unique pieces he sculpted from wood, stone and clay. His natural talent for bringing beauty out of simple material was vey admiral. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged directly to the Fulton County Public Library or Riley Children’s Hospital in Ron’s memory. Graveside services are being planned at Leiters Ford I.O.O.F. Cemetery with military rites rendered on June 6, 2026 at 11 a.m.  A time of fellowship will follow at the Leiters Ford Aubbeenaubbee Township Community Building, 7410 Main Street, Rochester, IN.
