ld Rice Hot Dish Church Cook-Off and Craft Sale Nov. 9
The Bay Lake Area Lions and local crafters invite the public to show their support for Childhood Cancer Awareness on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Deerwood Auditorium for the Minnesota Wild Rice Hot Dish Church Cook-Off and Craft Sale.
Members from area churches and communities have been asked to submit their best recipe and a pan of Minnesota Wild Rice Hot Dish. Judging will take place at 10:30 a.m. and the winner will receive a gift basket of area products.
The Bay Lake Area Lions will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (while supplies last). Included in the free will donation lunch is Minnesota Wild Rice Hot Dish, roll, water or coffee.
Meet special guest,Tom Martin, from R&J Broadcasting, who will be with us for the event broadcasting live. Enter for free various gift give a-ways on the hour.
Beginning at 10 a.m. there will be an offering of homemade baked goods and a variety of craft vendors with handmade items, quilts, fleece throws and blankets, holiday gift items, decorations and ornaments and more! We will also have on hand fudge for sale with flavors for fall and holiday gift giving. The proceeds from the fudge sales will benefit the Childhood Cancer program.
Donate a hat or pair of mittens for the Cuyuna Range Elementary School Tree of Warmth. The garments will be given to Teppi Bundy for distribution to kids who are in need of them.
Each day, 46 children are diagnosed with cancer. seven will die. Cancer remains the number one disease killer of children; more than genetic anomalies, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, asthma and AIDS combined.
Net proceeds from this event will go to Lions Clubs International Childhood Cancer Program.
