Susan Marie Smolinski Zupfer Obit

We are sad to announce Susan Marie Smolinski Zupfer passed away in Bonita Springs, FL. She was born 80 years ago in St. Paul, MN on Feb. 10, 1946. The first born of nine, she was around children her whole life. As a teen, Susan met her husband of 61 years and married Gary Henry Zupfer on Feb. 25, 1965. They raised their kids while she managed Lakeview Motel in Crosby, MN. After the children were grown, she co-founded and owned Blow Molded Specialties. Later she worked as the Unbank Vault Manager at Grand Casino Mille Lacs. They retired to Bonita Springs, FL where she was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and playing cards. Susan is survived by her children: Julie (Kris), Gary (Elena) and Kathy (Dan); grandchildren Kaiya (Maurice), Drew and Quinn Anderson and Maren (Jacob) and Brendan Brown; great-grandchildren Jackson and Olive Greene. She is also survived by siblings Georgie, Johnny, Jimmy, Tommy, Joan and Eddie; sisters-in-law Debbie (Larry) St. Sauver and Sandy Thompson and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Betty Ackerknecht Smolinski and George Smolinski, her father-in-law Andrew Zupfer, her mother-in-law Evelyn Zupfer, her brother-in-law, Danny Zupfer and sisters Lucy Smolinski Hoffman and Mary Smolinski Schaefer. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 22, 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison. Visitation one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial at Garrison Cemetery. Arrangements with Shikany’s of Bonita Springs, FL and Koop Funeral Home of Crosby.
