Roberta Maxine and Bernard LeRoy Chapman Obit

Roberta Maxine Chapman, 97, of Arden Hills, died on Dec. 25, 2025 at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood. She was born July 19, 1928 in Kellerton, IA to Truman, Sr. and Lula Baker. She married Bernard Leroy Chapman on June 20, 1948 in Des Moines, IA. She was a secretary in Iowa government for 35 years and was a former owner of Rogers Lake Resort in Emily. After retirement, they moved to their lake home at Roger Lake and spent summers at the lake and wintered in the south, especially enjoying their time in Biloxi, MS. In 2016, they moved to Heartwood Senior Living Community in Crosby. She then moved to New Perspectives in Arden Hills in 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard; daughter, Nancy Ann Chapman; sister, Arlyne Hampton; and brother, Truman Baker, Jr.   She is survived by son, Scott Chapman (Sue); three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service to honor Roberta and Bernard will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Emily United Methodist Church, 39994 White Pine Street, Emily, with a light lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to Emily United Methodist Church.
