James Jesse Hunter Obit

JAMES JESSE HUNTER, 73, of Crosby, died on Aug. 17, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Ironton American Legion Post 443. Private family interment. Jim was born on Nov.18, 1948 to Claude and Evelyn (Deen) Hunter in Walsh, CO. Jim was a man who was constantly on the go, starting at age 13 when he entered the work force. From an early age, Jim could be considered a "Jack of all trades" having worked for the police department, owning a towing company and mechanical shop, working as a truck driver, owning and managing rental properties and eventually serving as the Mayor of Crosby. He loved to buy and sell things and did not believe in the word “procrastination.” Jim was a stern man while also being compassionate, kind, and generous, especially to those in need. He was somebody whose word was gold; it was his belief that if you didn't have that—you had nothing. He is survived by his five children, Tammy Fickett, Deanna (Scott) Solie, Connie (John) Hutchins, Jim (Autumn) Hunter, and Aubrey (Jared) Michaels; good friend, Candi Cayton; 15 grandchildren; many foster grandchildren; and even more great-grandchildren; extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean; and sister, Shirley Calderone. Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
