Eva Lorraine Starry Obit

EVA LORRAINE STARRY, 97, passed away on Nov. 24, 2025 at Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born on Dec. 28, 1927, in Ross Lake Township to Leonard and Carol (Hughes) Bodle.  She was united in marriage to Frank Starry on Jan. 5, 1946, in Little Pine Township. She was a member of the Emily Wesleyan Church, where she served as a board member for years, taught both children's and adult's Sunday school classes, and sang in the choir.  For 25 years, she served on the Little Pine Township Board. She and Frank “Bud” owned and operated the Emily Grocery Store for a few years and then moved back to their country home where she was Bud's sidekick in their logging business. She was a talented crocheter and seamstress and loved to make home-made gifts for her family.  She worked for a knitting company out of her home for 10+ years. She worked seasonally at a greenhouse for many summers, and she and Bud were wild rice pickers for many years as well. She was a gardener and loved her flowers and house plants. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Frank; two sons, Dennis and David Starry; three brothers, Arthur, Albert and Robert Bodle; and two sisters, Elizabeth McCoy and Charlotte Frink.   She is survived by two sons, Michael (Judy) Starry of Emily and Frank (Nathalie) Starry of Cordes Lake, AZ; two daughters, Marsha (Randy) Dauffenbach of Burlington, WI and Ruth (Don) Beckrich of Riverton; one brother, Jack Bodle of Olympia, WA; one sister, Donna Hite of Crosby; 19 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, at the Wesleyan Church in Emily. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.   Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily. In lieu of flowers, memorial are preferred to the Cuyuna Range Food Shelf (P.O. Box 33, Crosby, MN 56441) or the Emily Food Shelf (P.O. Box 93, Emily, MN 56447).   Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
