Ernie Miller Obit

ERNIE MILLER, 82, of Emily, died at his home on July 12, 2023.  He was born in Granite Falls Township  on April 16, 1941 to Allen and Lorena (Kruse) Miller.
He wore many hats during his lifetime and whether it was overseeing an office rebuild, building Shaker reproduction furniture, managing a hydroponics greenhouse or pulling irrigation pipe for strawberries, he sank his heart and soul into each project.
All of those enterprises paled in comparison to Cross the World, a ministry started in 2011 by Ernie, his wife JoAn and three  other friends.  Small wooden crosses were made from scrap wood and given away at no cost to those wanting to know about their God and His love for them.  After 13 years, 500,000 crosses encompassed the world with his touch on every one of them. His dedication and commitment to this ministry was tireless.
Preceding him in death are his parents; two brothers and one sister.
His survivors his loving wife, JoAn; son, Todd Miller; daughter, Tracy Miller and their families; stepmom, Delores Miller; sister and brother-in-law  Joyce and Jimmie Lecy; sister-in-law, Debbie Miller, brother Terry Miller and their families; sister-in-law, Bonnie Schoneman, along with many, many friends.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 21 at the Hilltop Chapel in Palisade.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  It was his wish for no flowers but rather a donation in his name to a charity of your own choice.
Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
