HAZEL PATRICIA YOTTER, 90, of Crosslake, passed away on July 1, 2026 at White Fish at the Lakes in Crosslake. She was born on Oct. 27, 1935, to Leland and Hazel Lougee at their log home in Mission Township. She attended the Mission Country Elementary School and then Crosby-Ironton High School. She worked as a Candy Striper at St. Joseph Hospital in Brainerd right out of school.  She met Dale Yotter at Moonlight Bay in Crosslake and they married on March 27, 1954. She became a homemaker and mother. She returned to work at St. Joseph Hospital as a CNA after her children were older.

Jim and Olive Slye

A Celebration of Life for both Jim and Olive Slye will take place on Friday, July 10 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Heartwood Conference Center in Crosby. Jim Slye passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026. Olive Slye passed away Nov. 17, 2025. They were married almost 70 years and loved living in Emily for 55 years.  They spent the last three years being lovingly cared for at Crosby Care Center/Heartwood Care Center. Terry, Brad, Sharon and Laurie invite friends and family to this occasion of joyful remembrance, music and fellowship.

Geraldine "Gerry" Margie (Pederson) Altonen Obit

GERALDINE "GERRY" MARGIE (PEDERSON) ALTONEN, passed away peacefully at Heartwood Care Center June 16, 2026. Geraldine was born in Crosby, June 20, 1939, to Marjorie Pederson (Shannon) Oscar Pederson who were from Ironton. Geraldine was a graduate of the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1957. She met Wayne ”Tez” Altonen in 1956 at school, they were inseparable. They soon married on May 21,1960, in Crosby. They moved to South Minneapolis where they loved and raised five children.

ELOISE JEANETTE BIERMAN, 85, of Cuyuna, passed away on June 22, 2026 at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.   Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls on Monday at noon.

Lois Ann Taylor Obit

LOIS ANN TAYLOR, 87, of Deerwood, passed away on June 23, 2026 at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born Aug. 10, 1938 in Crosby to Walter and Delcie (Butler) Gross.   She was united in marriage to Frank “Bob” Robert Taylor on March 11, 1956. Together with her husband they owned and operated the Western Auto in Crosby.  She was a retired employee of Crosby Manufacturing with 22 years of service.  She enjoyed the local bowling leagues and card clubs, as well as doing needle work such as embroidery, knitting and crocheting.

EVERETT COMLEY HENRICKSON, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at the age of 93. Everett was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and true friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a resolute member of his community and a pillar of strength for his family. His memory will be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
