MARLENE CLARICE SETHNEY, 86, daughter of Melvin and Clara (Hushagen) Dalby, died March 15, 2025 in Sweetwater, TN. She grew up in rural Twin Valley, graduating from high school there and was baptized, confirmed and married in Wild Rice Lutheran Church. Following graduation, she attended Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis and completed LPN training at Bethesda Hospital, Crookston. In 1959 she was joined in marriage to Gerald Sethney, also of Twin Valley. Together they owned and operated Hoot Owl Resort, Waubun, for several years.

ARCHIE ALBERT SABYAN, 84, of Little Falls, formerly of Crosby, passed away on April 12, 2025 with family at his side at the Little Falls Care Center in Little Falls.  He was born on May 13, 1940 in Wolford Township to Joseph and Veronica (DeCent) Sabyan. Archie was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.  He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby and the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557, Deerwood.  Archie was an avid Crosby-Ironton sports fan and loved everything to do with Crosby-Ironton.

Greg Duane Bodle Obit

GREG DUANE BODLE, 52, of Big Lake, previously of Nashwauk, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, surrounded by his family. Greg was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, longtime employee of C.H. Robinson for the past 16 years.  He spent his free time either fishing with his son and fishing buddies or traveling the country side on his Harley looking for the best ice cream shops. In the winter he loved being at the hockey arena cheering his son on or watching the Minnesota Vikings. Greg had a huge heart and would make small talk and make new friends wherever he went.

TIMOTHY FREDERICK FOX,  63, of Deerwood, died at the St. Cloud Hospital on March 11, 2025 as result of  a fall. He was born on Nov. 3, 1961 to Frederick and Mary (Wright) Fox.  He was the owner and operator of Fox Chimney Sweep with over 30 years of service. Preceding him in death are his parents and one brother, Mike Fox. He is survived by his wife Christine; his daughter, Zoe Hamm of Memphis, TN; step daughters, Samantha Mudderman and Tabatha Kirkland; one brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Theresa Fox of Pequot Lakes and one sister, Terri Kaster of Plymouth.

LARRY GENE MOSES, known widely as “Moe,” was born Jan. 11, 1937 in Big Lake Township and died Feb. 22, 2025 in Brainerd. The son of Alva and Bertha Moses, he grew up in Big Lake working on the family farm along with his siblings Marion, Marjorie, Joyce, Alva, Duane (Buzz) and Lill. He married Jeanne Hanson in 1956 and they had four children, Jerry, Tim, Dave and Curt before divorcing. He started working at Hoffman Engineering in Anoka in 1958 and he worked at Hoffman for over 34 years while also continuing to farm. He married Ruth Lanser in 1969 and son James was born in 1972.

She was a member of the Salem Lutheran in Deerwood. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband Claude Gilmer and one brother, Dale Abear.

CHARLES MICHAEL KLIPPENES, Jr., 47, of Brainerd, went to meet the Lord on March 18, 2025 in Brainerd. He was born on Aug. 31, 1977 in Robbinsdale to Charles and Bonnie (Harrison) Klippenes. Charles was united in marriage to Brenda Booth on Sept. 10, 2016 in Crosby. He was a Zone 1 First Responder; an EMT with Lakewood Health Care System in Staples and an employee of McDonald’s in Brainerd.

LEON H. SCHEFERS, 77, passed away March 15, 2025, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born Nov. 30, 1947 in St. Cloud to Norbert and Cecilia (Maus) Schefers. He married Elizabeth Liedl April 8, 1989 in Wolverton. He was a member of the October pasty team at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby and assisted with meat cutting baking of the pasties. He attended St. John’s Prep and High School and forever loved going back to St. John’s. He graduated from St.

It is with great sadness that the family of JoAnn Mary Lindroth announces her passing at her home in Savannah GA. on March 14, 2025 at age 92. Born on Dec. 28, 1932 to loving  parents Lester and Amy Thoms in Crosby,  Minnesota. JoAnn spent many wonderful years married to the love of her life Arthur D. Lindroth. She was a busy mother raising five children while supporting her husband’s naval career. JoAnn is survived by Sons Gary Lindroth (Diane) Savannah, GA, Joel Lindroth (Nok) Fernley, NV.
