Thomas Oscar Miller Obit

THOMAS OSCAR MILLER, 93, of Clifton Heights, PA  died on April 6, 2020 at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA following a prolonged illness.
Born March 1, 1927, he was the son of Lewis R. Miller and Metta Miller of Crosby.
He laid track for the Burlington Northern Railroad while attending Crosby-Ironton High School in 1944. He graduated six months early in 1945 to join the U.S. Navy. He attended radio school in Gulfport, MS and then served on LST 981 during the last stages of the Pacific War, as a Petty Officer Radioman 3rd Class.

RAYMOND L. SHANKLE, 75, of Deerwood, died on April 20, 2020 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  
Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

Vernon Robert Lubovich Obit

VERNON ROBERT LUBOVICH, age, 94, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2020 in Auburn, CA. Born in Ironton, MN on January 24, 1926 to Mike and Annie  (Yaich) Lubovich.
Vernon married Lucille Johnson on May 1, 1948 in Brainerd, and they later moved to California    Vernon is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lucille, his daughter Linda Lubovich of San Jose,  his son Michael and Debra Lubovich of Colfax, and grandsons Christopher and Hannah Lubovich  and Ryan and Hidy Wardley and numerous treasured nieces and nephews.

MARY LOUISE (WANBAUGH) WIDMAR passed away peacefully on April 5, 2020, at her Heartwood Senior Center apartment in Crosby.  She was 87 years old.

JOHN H. SAVALOJA, 67, of Trommald, died at his home on April 6, 2020 after 599 days of battling Glioblastoma.  He was born on Feb. 3, 1953 in Wadena to Harold and Shirley (Erckenbrack) Savaloja.  John married Virginia “Ginny” Milberry on Sept. 20, 2001 in Trommald.  He was a retired Highway Technician with MNDOT with 29 years of service.
Preceding John in death are is father, Harold in 2013; two brothers, Terry Savaloja in1992 and Mark Savaloja in 2003 and Goldie, the best dog ever.

Bernard "Bernie" J. Prinzing Obit

BERNARD J. "BERNIE" PRINZING, 88, of Emily, died on April 8, 2020 at his home.  He was born on April 23, 1931 in Faribault to Henry and Lucille (Duffney) Prinzing.  Bernie married Katherine Mollenhauer in Medford on Oct. 3, 1949.  He was the owner and operator of the Trader’s Palace Marine in Outing and a former owner of Vacation Properties Real Estate in Emily for 12 years.  He was a member of St. Emily’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Millwright Local 548, Minneapolis. He was an avid outdoorsman.

REVEREND RICHARD GEORGE OBERSTAR, M.S.F., 90, of Crosby formerly of St. Mathias, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, entered eternal life on April 11, 2020. He was born June 28, 1929 in Eveleth to Fred Oberstar and Angeline (Muster) Oberstar. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Virginia,  class of 1948.  He attended the Virginia Junior College and St. Mary’s College in Seattle, WA. He was a U.S Army and Navy veteran.
