Wayne L. Maier Obit

WAYNE L. MAIER, 90, of Brainerd, died on June 20, 2020 at his home.  He was born in Crosby on Aug. 16, 1929 to William and Esther (Hendrickson) Maier.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Wayne married Doris Emmaline Evenson on Aug. 16, 1952 in Brainerd.  Wayne was a former M.A. Hanna Mining employee.  He also mined in Babbitt, Liberia, Iran and Casa Grande, AZ.  Together with his wife they owned and operated the Highview Campground in Pequot Lakes and Hidden Paradise Resort and Campground in Brainerd.  
Preceding Wayne in death are his parents; his wife, Doris; two sons, Lawrence and Bruce Maier; five brothers, Earl, Donald, Howard, William, and Dale Maier; and one sister, Dorothy Sabyan.
Wayne is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Mark  BonAmie of St. Cloud and Tamra and Kenneth Athmann of Brainerd; two daughters-in-law, Norma Maier of St. Cloud and Ellen Maier of Fargo, ND; a brother and sister-in-law, Denny and Leanne Maier of Zumbrota; eight grandchildren, Theresa (Rema) Bawassa, Tina Maier, Kristopher Maier, Pamela BonAmie, Leea Maier, Deana (Brian) Kaleindl, Allan Neiman and Nathan Maier,  four great-grandchildren, Caiden Curtis, Emma Maier, Jaxten BonAmie, Carter ChirChir, and Keylee Kaleindal.
A private family service will be held.  
Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
