Frederick A. "Fritz" Barrett Obit

FREDERICK A. "FRITZ" BARRETT, 83, of Emily, formerly of North Minneapolis and Fridley, died on Sept. 10, 2020 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  He was born on Jan. 15, 1937 in Minneapolis.  Fritz was a U.S. Navy veteran.  He was retired from St. Paul Metalcraft/Diecasting with 40 years of service. Fritz was a former morning bartender at the Log Cabin Bar in Emily. He was a proud member of the Zuhrah Shrine, Minneapolis.
Fritz was a beloved dad, papa, great papa and friend.
He survived by his children and spouses, Katy and Dave Kertzmann, Dan and Fran Barrett and Jeff Barrett; daughter-in-law, Tracy Barrett; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding Fritz in death are his mother, Lillian DuRushia; his beloved wife Dolly and eldest son, Derek Barrett.
Fritz’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses, support staff, Dr. David Goodwin and the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Hospice for their excellent care and love they gave our dad.  Thank you to the nurses that loved and cared for him.  It brought us great comfort in knowing you were there with him when we were not able. We know you will grieve the loss of our Fritzy, EVERYONE LOVED FRITZ.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 at the Log Cabin Bar in Emily.  Burial was at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily.  No memorials or flowers preferred.  
Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
